"The spectacle from the Internment Camp of molestation of native craft was a frequent occurrence. observed quite 20 cases during my two months in Stanley technique was similar in each case. Approach of Japanese motor patrol vessel examination of papers, firing of junk, machine gunning of crew on board and in the water, towing of the burning junk at speed until it was towed under, complete absence of signs of life. These atrocities took place two or three miles from land and action appeared so complete that there was little hope of survivors being able to swim ashore.

A few fishing junks remain at Stanley. They are permitted to bright light fish in Stanley Bay but any approach to the Internment Camp side is met with rifle fire. From the Camp one can observe fishing craft gathered in bays along D'Aguilar Peninsular."

Japanese Patrol Waters of Colony

Paragraph 32.

"As far as I can gather from observations and reports from guerillas the main Japanese patrol vessels work off the south shores of the Island. For some time a patrol craft lay permanently off the Stanley Peninsular but more recently this was discontinued. The approaches to Aberdeen are patrolled and I have seen a patrol vessel lying off the North and off Lamma Island. As far as I can gather visits to Mirs Bay are made occasionally. As far as I have been able to ascertain also there is no patrol craft stationed at Tai Po. I have seen an ex Imports and Exports Department launch operating near Lyemun.
